MJ Wild Things is having a photo contest beginning November 13th, at 12:01 AM through January 20th, 2009 at 11:59 PM. There will be 3 separate categories for each entry. Categories are: Wildlife, Landscape, and People & Pets. Each entry will be judged by the editor of MJ Wild Things Photography on the following criteria: creativity (75%) and composition of photograph (25%). In the event of a tie, the person among the tied entrants with the highest score in creativity will be the winner. Contest is open to any and all amateurs. By participating in the Contest, entrant certifies that his/her entry is original, has not been previously published or won any award, and does not contain any material that would violate or infringe upon the rights of any third party, including copyrights, trademarks or won rights or privacy or publicity. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole and unfettered discretion to disqualify any entry that it believes contains obscene, offensive, or inappropriate content, that does not comply with these official rules or that is not consistent with the spirit or theme of the contest. The decision of the Sponsor and judges is final and binding on all matters relating to the Contest. Prizes are: Three runners up will receive 9 photo workshops at a value of $630, along with having their winning photograph professionally matted and framed for display. The three runners up will also receive a box of 20 greeting cards printed with their winning photograph on them at a value of $100. One Grand Prize Winner will receive the same value as the three runner ups, along with an 8 day photography workshop trip to either the East Coast of North Carolina, or to the Grand Tetons National Park in Wyoming participating in wildlife and landscapes techniques and seminars at a value of $2,730.
ENTRIES: Limit (3) entries per category per person labeling each picture: name, address, phone, and where it was taken and date. Each picture should be no larger than 5x7 and printed on professional photo paper. Label each picture as to what the category is along with a brief story of the picture(s) submitted. Examples of each category are:

No mechanically reproduced entries permitted. Entries become the property of the Editor and can be returned if noted. Editor is not responsible for lost, late, mutilated, misdirected, incomplete, inaccurate or postage due entries. Send all entries along with a $25.00 entry fee payable to MJ to: MJ Photography, 2388 Sunrise CT., Aurora, Illinois 60503. Check or money order will be accepted. No on-line entries will be accepted.
Conditions of Participation: Expenses not specifically included in prize description and all taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Each prize is awarded 'as is", and no exchange may be substituted. Entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules and by the Editor which are final and binding on all matters. Winning photos will be published on website. Winners (and parent or legal guardian if winner is a minor) may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a liability Release and where legally permissible a Publicity Release within 14 days following the date of first attempted notification. Failure to comply with this deadline may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternate winner. Editor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. Editor reserves the right to select winners from eligible entries as of the termination date. Editor further reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. Editor may prohibit an entrant from participating in a Contest if it is determined that said entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, hacking, deception or other unfair playing practices or intending to abuse, threaten or harass other entrants. Caution: Any attempt by a participant to deliberately damage any Web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and such an attempt be made, Editor reserves the right to seek damages from any such participant to the fullest extent of the law. Entrant hereby waives all rights to claim any and all Special Rights limited to said rules. Entrants photos can be returned to photographer if noted.
